Have a file from a client or your old editor? This reference finds Craft apps by file extension and tells you what can change when you open or export it. Enter the extension below; each result links to the matching app guide, such as PhotoCraft or WordCraft.

Supported
Export: Saving rewrites image resources, layer records and the merged picture; unsupported information is carried over, but the saved file is not byte-identical to the original.
Keep the original file. After saving, check editable layers, text and fonts, and the final appearance in Photoshop before handing it back.
You can enter .psd, psd or PSD. You can also write “I want to open a .psd file.” Use 1–200 characters; an empty or longer entry asks you to change the text before searching.
For several file types, enter extensions such as .psd, .docx and read each result separately before choosing an app. A list such as docx unknown keeps both entries, including a separate result for the unknown extension. Repeated spellings with different capitalization appear once.
Choose your operating system to see apps with an official package for that system. The Web option means a version you host yourself; use a desktop package when you want an installed editing app.
An animation, a design and a timeline exchange file can share a suffix with another use. Results appear in named groups; read all groups or select the use you need to show only that group. A RAW result can also depend on the camera and encoding variant.
When you need editable Photoshop layers
For .psd, PhotoCraft offers opening and saving. VectorCraft and LightCraft open the merged image. Choose PhotoCraft when you need to continue editing the original layers, and inspect the saved copy in Photoshop before returning the project.
VectorCraft can export PSD. LightCraft’s PSD route opens the combined picture for a photo-editing task. Select Export to check the return direction separately.
DesignCraft’s layout group places the merged picture on a page; it does not continue editing the Photoshop layers.
PSB has its own entry. Choose that extension when the source file ends in .psb.
When your project is from Premiere or InDesign
FilmCraft cannot open .prproj. Export the sequence from Premiere as Final Cut XML, AAF or OTIO, then check that exchange format and inspect the imported timeline. Keep the Premiere project while checking clips, tracks, timing and the features your sequence needs.
DesignCraft’s .indd opening is planned. Obtain an IDML copy from InDesign, open it in DesignCraft and inspect the publication’s layout and text flow. DesignCraft’s guide covers the current exchange and print-output choices.
DesignCraft opens and saves its own .designcraft projects, but cannot export INDD. FilmCraft has no stated PRPROJ output route; check its export choices and agree on a supported timeline exchange format.
When you need to return a Word file or PDF
WordCraft opens and exports .docx. If someone expects an editable Word file back, inspect the returned document in Word, including the layout and complex objects used in the document.
PdfCraft can export a partial Word conversion from PDF, with layout loss. Choose WordCraft to open an existing DOCX; use PdfCraft for the PDF task and check the converted Word document before delivery. DesignCraft’s text-placement group imports Word content into a publication, rather than editing the original Word project.
For a PowerPoint handoff from PDF, PdfCraft exports each page as a slide with partial layout support. Inspect slide size and overflowing text before delivery.
For PDF, decide whether you need to edit the PDF itself or create a fixed copy of another document. PdfCraft supports local PDF viewing, commenting, forms, signing and page work. To deliver a PDF from a document, slide deck, publication or drawing, choose Export and inspect the relevant app’s result.
Read the next step beside the result
A Partial result tells you which content can change or which document type, camera variant or format support is required. Merged image only gives you the combined picture. Work on a copy and inspect the stated condition before handing the file back.
Within each use, Supported results come first, followed by Partial, Merged image only, Planned, Check the app’s file options and Not supported. Apps with the same state appear alphabetically. This order follows the direction you selected.
PhotoCraft and VectorCraft cannot export Affinity documents; PhotoCraft cannot export HEIC. Use the original app when that format is required, or agree on an available exchange format. For DesignCraft EPUB output, select reflowable text or fixed-layout pages: the fixed pages are images with searchable text, not live ebook text.
For Planned or Not supported, use the named exchange route. If your extension has no match, open the complete format list and check the relevant app’s file options. Keep the original application when you still need a project format without a stated route.
